These funding agencies support the use of core outcomes.
The HTA Stage 1 Guidance Notes for applicants submitting Stage 1 HTA applications states: “Where established Core Outcomes exist they should be included amongst the list of outcomes unless there is good reason to do otherwise. Please see The COMET Initiative website at www.comet-initiative.org to identify whether Core Outcomes have been established.”
The NIHR HTA recently released a Commissioning Brief (HTA 18/51) for research on extended duration haemodialysis. The outcomes specified include the SONG-HD core outcome set!

The preparation instructions in the Clinical Trials Programme Proposal requires applicants to address whether “standardized/generally agreed core outcome sets included in the endpoints chosen? If not, please justify.”
The Horizon 2020 Framework Programme (H2020) funding call for Comparing the effectiveness of existing healthcare interventions in the adult population ID: SC1-PM-10-2017 stipulated that: “Agreed core outcome sets (COS) should be used as endpoints in conditions where they already exist, in other cases efforts should be made to agree on such COS.”
